A Magnificent premiere!

Production The Magnificent Seven

I am so thrilled to share that The Magnificent Seven will have it’s first full production in May 2020 at Flint Repertory Theatre! Julia and I had our first full reading of the show there in January in their New Works Festival, and we’re so excited to be back in the wonderful and supportive community.

Over the last three years of writing this show we’ve been anxious to get it up on it’s feet to figure out how our gymnastics-musical-without-any-real-gymnastics might move through space, and I’m thrilled to have the chance! And we’re working once again with the wonderful director Michael Lluberes to figure it out for the first time.

The Pact is back in Canada!

Pregnancy Pact Production

The wonderful folks at The Edge Productions in Windsor, Ontario are teaming up with Gangway! Theatre Company in Toronto for a multi-city remount of 2017’s production of Pregnancy Pact!

The show will run in Windsor at Sho Studio from April 24-27 before moving to Bravo Academy in Toronto from May 2-11. Tickets for both cities are available now!

The production will once again be directed by The Edge’s Artistic Director Miriam Goldstein, with music direction by Sam Poole, and design by Nathaniel Cedroni and Morgan Corbett-Collins. They were a dream time the first time around, and I’m so thrilled that they’re all back with the show.

Samantha Bourque, Miranda DiPietro, and Sean Sennett return to their roles from the 2017 run (as Maddie, Brynn, and Cory/Justin, respectively.) They will be joined by Caroline Burton, Melissa MacKenzie, Anna Mazurik, and Katie Miller for the restaging.

I can’t wait to see this wonderful production again – my passport renewal is in the mail!

What a wonderful experience putting our gigantic little musical in the world for the first time. You can see for yourself just how amazing the world we built was!

Despite always being the ultimate goal, it’s such a strange rarity to get to see what you’ve written live onstage. And it’s even more of a rarity to see it both fulfill all of your wishes and go beyond your wildest dreams at the same time. I can’t wait to carry all that I’ve experienced and learned at Diversionary into the future!

In the News Production The Loneliest Girl in the World

Six weeks after arriving in San Diego (with a few new songs under our belt, a few old songs firmly in the trunk, and a week of previews), Diversionary Theatre‘s world premiere of The Loneliest Girl in the World has officially opened!

Audiences have been fully embracing our giant little show, and critics have liked it, too! James Hebert of The San Diego Union-Tribune calls it “ingenious” with a “remarkable… generosity of spirit.” (And you know he got the show when he calls Tommy’s final pie-ing “an expression of something like tough love.”) I am so in love with the work that has been done, and so happy that it is resonating.
