Roberta-Bot

It was so great to hear the new short musical tonight that Julia and I wrote for New York City Children’s Theater!  Roberta-Bot tells the story of a perfectionist girl who becomes convinced she must be a robot when she encounters her best friend’s robo-sitter.  (Why else would she be so perfect?)

We were one of five teams to write short musicals around the topic of children and technology, and we were delighted to see the work by the four other talented teams: Charlie Sohne & Tim Rosser, Kevin Hammonds & Kristin Blair, John Herin & Alden Terry, and Ty Defoe & Tidtaya Sinutoke.  This first read was directed by Dev Bondarin, with music direction by Micah Young.  Roberta-Bot featured Diana Fox, Hector Ortiz, and Vanessa Spica.

Thanks to Barbara Zinn Krieger and Emma Halpern at NYCCT for the opportunity!

How lucky am I?

Today I get to go into a room with these eleven amazing people!  I still can’t quite believe the cast we’ve got for this presentation…  Come on down to the York next week to see Mary Testa, Sally Struthers, Annie Golden, Michael Dean Morgan, Dana Steingold, Alyse Alan Louis, Robb Sapp, Britney Coleman, Molly Hager, Amy Linden, and Stephanie Hsu.  And, while you’re there, pinch me so I know I’m not dreaming…
